I am normally a cynical person. One who plans for the worst and hopes for
the best. One who doesn't go around getting her hopes up too high just in case.

And yet somehow, there was no doubt in my mind that Laurie was going to
kick cancer's ass for forever soon. Heck, she'd been doing it so well for
ages now. I wasn't worried. I knew she'd make it. And have a rocking time,
snarking along on the boards and playing with the rest of the 3WA crowd in
chat while doing it. She had an entire army behind her.

Even when it was announced that well, that wasn't going to happen, I didn't
believe it really. It was just another false alarm, she couldn't. Nah, she'd manage to bounce back somehow. Always did.

It wasn't supposed to turn out this way. Not so soon. That's not how the
ending of this was supposed to go.

And coincidentally, this song has been going through my head all morning.

Keep being radioactive, Laurie. Kick the stars' asses.

Look at the stars; look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah, they were all yellow

I came along; I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow

Your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know?
You know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across; I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
'Cos you were all yellow

I drew a line; I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

And your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know?
For you I bleed myself dry
For you I bleed myself dry

It's true
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for...
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine

Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do
